Choose Your Ad Experience

Have you seen on Hulu where you can choose your ad experience?  I thought it was a great idea.  I was envisioning this choose your own adventure where I could create a little mini me avatar that led me through my 30 second show interruptions with just a smidgen more fun.  Then I saw my choices.   Uh, thanks, but I'd rather not have any middle aged woman's experiences as they drive a Ford, wonder about their kids, and dream of eating a twinkie right after the test drive.  My three choices, Pudgy, Mudgy or Wudgey didn't appeal to me at all.  Sadly, you must choose, or one will be chosen for you, so I experienced Flora as she blathered through her fake surprise drivel about the awesome, new Ford.

If I were the ad manager, I would have had  parent looking for a car to keep their kid safe, someone shopping for their first car, and perhaps a retired couple.  Dear Ford, You could benefit from infinite wisdom and willingness to bash your ad choices on my blog. Love, Melinda.

What do you think about choosing your own ad experience?  Do you think the ads are better?

PS - Any of you planning on watching The Cape?  I kinda want to tune in just to see if it's as bad as I imagine it could be.

  1. I don't use Hulu, so I haven't seen the ad thing, but I watched The Cape last night. My husband tends to like comic-themed shows and movies, so he wanted to record it. It was bad - super cliche, terrible dialogue, the whole 9 yards.
