I'm Yo Kitteh Momma!

After we got married, I took to calling myself Momma when I was feeling goofy.

"Momma wants granite counters!"
"What do you mean your meeting is running late?  Momma made you dinner!"
"Momma doesn't want anything else to do with yardwork."

Mr. Palindrome thought it was super weird and refused to use my new self dubbed nickname.  He would always ask:

"What are you the Momma of?"

That is until we got the call from Mr. Palindrome's grandmother.  She had tasted the freedom that is living in a home without animals and it tasted good.  While she previously had taken to calling Sam "her cat" and telling me that I could only house her temporarily, Grandma did a 180.  When Mr. Palindrome broke the news, I immediately jumped into his lap and proclaimed,

"I'm yo kitteh momma!"

I went from a foster kitty mom, to a full fledged mom and in under a week, I've fallen hard.

Look at this face.

Look at this "I'm so annoyed by you" face.

Look at this "The only reason I deal with you at all is because you feed me" face.

Yeah.  That's my baby.

And to commemorate her first Christmas with us, she even got her own ornament on the tree.

I'm pretty much beside myself to be the momma of Sammie.

  1. Aww, she is soo adorable! I want a kitty, but I'm allergic. And of course, I love the super fluffy ones, so it just wouldn't work out. I'll just live vicariously through you! :)

  2. YAY for kittehs! Our kitteh is our whole world; well, she was mine first, and she and the Mister had a mutual disdain for each other. Now they are fast friends and I can't even compete! ;)

  3. Haha! Love it. I've been trying to convince hubs to let us get a cat for a while, he sucks and says no. :(

  4. Yippee! I'm a Grandma. Please call me Nana.
    Your Mom

  5. LOL, congrats on your new kitteh! Cats are such great pets, and now you have an excuse to spoil her even more!
